Mother and Dad (Minnie Arrilla Wasden and Russell Marion Blood)

Wish we had the date for the top picture, which was taken at Grandma and Grandpa Wasden's house on the lawn - the occasion must have been a special one. Some of the years, pictures were dated- always a boon for those of us who don't keep careful records. The bottom picture reflects Mother, the school teacher, and notice that the once shaggy grass is now mown. Progress had come, along with central heating and running water. Life was getting a (little) easier in 1963.

The photo of Mom and Dad by Grandpa Wasden's house is probably the best, and maybe the only photo of them together after the classic Sunlight photo of them with Louise during the 1930s. The struggles of the Great Depression were before them, belying their cheerful smiles and dispositions in this photo.
