Blow it up and find Miss Harkins

Who is that sitting by Miss Harkins? How come no one's smiling? Everybody looks so grim. The photographer must have forgotten to say, "Say cheese." And he kind of cut you off, the other picture is really a good one.

I took another look,at least your head is showing, it also does show Daddy in this one.

Found Edith. Some of those kids look like they're not dry behind the ears. Front row (almost cut off), Thayer Cox, Dad, Mother, Dwight, and Delbert Dahlke. Were Thayer and Delbert officers, too? Wow, talk about being a big-wig!

1948....I was only 8 years old, yet I remember Dad practicing over and over and over, his "parents response". He was more nervous than Dwight. Does anyone else remember him practicing in the living room?
Since FFA was the focus of Dwight's education, it was the family focus as well. That seems rather appropriate.

Wish I remembered.

Louise, Lloyd Meyer is sitting this side of Miss Harkins, Ernie Keller on the other side. Then, going on back, Miss Stoudt, unknown, Hershel Robirds. Dad's "parent's response" was a major worry for him, but he did a nice job. I was always a little nervous with big crowds, but not much.

That's who I thought those two were. How did they luck out to sit by Miss Harkins?

Nervous or not, Dwight made his way to fame and fortune.
