INVITATION TO MORE MAYHEM

The problem with any spare time is that it gives you time to think. The problem with thinking is that you come up with ideas. The problem with ideas is that you tend to share them with others and of course the problem with others knowing about your ideas is that they expect results. So here it is dear siblings, an invitation to more mayhem.
It occurred to me after reading all of the blog this past month that we all have unique memories of the same occurrence and we all have unique ways to convey those memories. Could we accomplish something above the "family histories" by organizing a list of subjects, all taking about six weeks to write a story and hook them together?

I love the idea. Are you looking for suggestions about what to write from a particular period of time, such as writing about winter snow storms, etc. during January, Dad during February (his birthday month), etc?
Also, are we writing on our own and not posting this on the blog?
I am ready to go.

Steve, that last comment is almost a disclaimer. Would you really call your siblings "suckers"? Actually, this is a very good idea. Sometimes a picture will trigger memories - either actually remembered or using other people's memories of the event. Story telling becomes even better - and we wouldn't have to worry about who is correct and who is not. History is, after all, how different people remember an incident. Posting on the blog seems to be a good way to get this accomplished.

One more thought. I have been reading a little book called "The Three Word Journal". Interesting concept, but helpful as I am trying to think about my story. Three words are used to jog memories. Possibilities might be something like "Fourth of July", "Dwight getting married", Judy's School Years", etc.

Perhaps a round robin of suggestions for the theme of the day?

Jake, Lye, Mrs. Tumsey, Tunnel of Love, etc. but seriously, Steve raised this with me a couple of weeks ago and I agreed, a great idea. As patriarch in charge, I hereby delegate responsibility for topics and ground rules to Steve. This sort of makes up for his allegations of mistreatment in days of yore. So let us know what you want us to do. Doesn't matter where we start. One tidbit leads to more crumbs and golden gems.

I'll get right on that!

When?

Can't now. I have a book to read.

Enjoy!

Again, I'm a little late in commenting, so hope everyone goes back a ways to check up on any new comments. but I like the idea. I've so enjoyed the little tidbits that have gone back and forth over the last few picture. It would be fun to pick a subject for us all to write our version of it, and even though I don'd always get around to blog comments I would do my part. Now if we really wanted to do this right, we could also include pictures. Make it more than just on the blog.

How long, Louise? I went clear back to the Christmas postings, and you weren't there!
